The Omabala region—encompassing the vibrant communities of the Anambra North Senatorial District and more — remains one of Nigeria’s most promising yet under- optimized economic zone. Blessed with a rich agricultural landscape, deep-rooted cultural heritage, and a rapidly growing pool of human capital, the region possesses all the essential ingredients for sustainable economic transformation. For decades, the absence of coordinated, data-driven regional planning has slowed progress, hindered investment, and left much of the region’s developmental potentials untapped. It is in response to these critical challenges that Professor Charles Ochie founded the Omabala Area Economic Development Foundation (OAEDF) on April 28, 2025, alongside Chief Amaechi Akorah and Mr. Ikenine Ochie, who serve as the Foundation’s pioneering Directors. Conceived as an Area Economic and Demographic Research Think Tank, OAEDF is established to function as a central, authoritative knowledge hub dedicated to gathering, analyzing, and disseminating reliable socio-economic data within Omabala region. Supported and guided by a carefully selected and highly accomplished Professionals in the Advisory Board, the Foundation is positioned to revolutionize economic development across the Omabala area. Through its commitment to rigorous research, strategic regional analysis, and stakeholder collaboration, OAEDF seeks to catalyze sustainable development and foster a more prosperous, inclusive future for all communities within the region.
